Governance
CarbonGrade governance ensures independence, methodological discipline, and consistency of all rating decisions
GOVERNANCE FRAMEWORK
CarbonGrade operates under a defined governance structure designed to ensure methodological consistency, operational integrity, and independence of rating decisions.
The governance framework establishes internal controls for:
- Rating methodology definition
- Evaluation criteria updates
- Classification thresholds
- Conflict management
- Operational separation
RATING METHODOLOGY OVERSIGHT
All ratings are issued under the CarbonGrade Rating Framework.
The framework defines:
- Scoring architecture
- Evaluation indicators
- Interpretation rules
- Classification logic
- Documentation requirements
Methodology updates, when applicable, are documented and version-controlled.
OPERATIONAL SEPARATION
CarbonGrade maintains operational separation between rating activities and any external advisory or implementation services conducted outside the CarbonGrade framework. Rating decisions are based exclusively on submitted documentation and internal evaluation criteria. Rating decisions are structurally insulated from advisory or implementation activities.
CONFLICT MANAGEMENT
CarbonGrade applies internal conflict management procedures to ensure rating objectivity. Where potential conflicts are identified, mitigation measures are implemented prior to evaluation. Rating assignments are based solely on documented evidence and predefined scoring rules.
TRANSPARENCY
CarbonGrade publishes:
- The Rating Framework structure
- Classification definitions (A–E)
- Scope of evaluation
- Interpretation guidelines
Methodological transparency is maintained through structured documentation.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Ratings are valid for a defined reporting year. Organizations are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of submitted disclosures.
CarbonGrade evaluates submitted data under its defined framework but does not assume responsibility for underlying source data accuracy beyond documented review.
INSTITUTIONAL INTEGRITY
CarbonGrade operates under principles of neutrality, consistency, and methodological discipline. The integrity of the rating framework is fundamental to its institutional positioning.
